Primary Care

What is Primary Care Telehealth?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2013 there were 922.6 million physician office visits in the United States.  Getting in to see your primary care physician can be time consuming and difficult. With telehealth, primary care physicians can now provide care directly to their patients at home in order to provide consultations, counseling services, review screenings and lab results, or manage medications.

Some form of telemedicine has existed in primary care for a long time… what’s different is the change in technology and access to broadband that makes it more widely available to doctors and patients.
